Socical Organisation is the Problem - Safeguarding and the Care Act (2014)

I'm taking some safeguarding training, so that I'm permitted voluntarily to drive the elderly to and from hospital.

Intimidation, coercion, harassment, use of threats, humiliation, bullying, swearing or verbal abuseThe training is well meaning. It is also a perfect and unanswerable exposition of how the law and authority itself, which adopts this kind of training, and enforces it, can often need safeguarding against.

But not to protect the vulnerable - who certainly are being left largely unattended by the vast and democratic majority of people in the world.

This democratic majority, who do so little to look after the vulnerable, is itself highly vulnerable from the ever increasing, yet unconscious power of authority, commanding wider social organisation systemically.

You see, social organisation itself, collectively, is unconscious of itself and its own immense power to do good and harm. As it is not conscious of itself, this good and harm can happen automatically and unaccountably.

In this case, from the UK's own Safeguarding and the Care Act 2022, under Psychological Abuse, it states things like

"Intimidation, coercion, harassment, use of threats, humiliation, bullying, swearing or verbal abuse"

... to name but one line. Yet if we look back to the pandemic years, the state imposed just this on the entire nation, for masking, lockdowns, and dare i say it without getting bullied yet more intensely...vaccination, which was on the verge of mandatory harm. Phew... we escaped that. Just.

So it seems once again, with this god shaped hole, or this loss of connection to the inner light, as a society, all of us have willingly accepted that a collective unconscious power in authority, can do these harms to us, now with impunity - the people themselves have voted for it, signalled their support for it in everything we freely choose to buy and whomever we freely choose to work for, many times daily.

Of course, the anti-sociopath would say "but we are here to make you safe".
