On Meta's Cornered Market

On Meta's Cornered Market - It would be much cheaper, simpler and sustainable for America to charge Meta, rent, to continue operating.

They are part of a social media oligopoly after all, meaning most of their profits are 'un-earned'. That is to say, most of their profit is an economic rent.

Of course, allow them to keep their earned income too, as you would justly expect to do for any builder, industry and free enterprise. Thats fair isn't it?

Simply:

  1. confiscate the 'un-earnings'
  2. using them as public revenue (only for  DOGE'ed departments)
  3. reduce all other taxation to that extent
  4. let the market, now that much the free-er, play out by the forces of nature
  5. and watch America start to get Greater Again

The next big question is: would Meta remain above water if the freebies were no longer being appropriated from the whole of the rest of the nation?

And following that, would a better competitor take their place and who might that be if they too were under the same scrutiny? Who would remain, but the free marketeer who robs no one, of course!

Almost certainly it would be a cluster of much smaller businesses competing, with the best rising quickly to the top. And the present winner would only remain there while they remained the best competitor. Think Bitcoin miners.

We are not talking about men competing in women's sport here. So would the idea be allowed to proceed in our current world of grotesque and obscene policy? How about the people authorised a sandboxed economy just for the losers in this game of life where we all know the rules and rejoice magnanimously when we win and take it on the chin when we lose. That is, a sandbox which protects the rest or the world from harm, when losers are granted wealth and power.

Maybe DOGE should take up this baton will all of the rent seeking in corporate and political America, currently destroying it. There's far more income as revenue available than a mere tariff can deliver. And far more waste and grifting obviated.

Make America Great Again.
