Should Leaders Be Given Protection?

In less 'civilised' times, the leader was always chosen out of those who were always found at the front in any battle.

As social organisation has developed, leaders have gradually been found more and more at the rear.

This is not to blame the leaders. It is to blame social organisation. Which is you and I.

So perhaps they should be given protection even at the rear. Then again, if they are such good leaders, why do people want to kill them?
