Accelerating Nuclear Power in the UK

After a couple of decades experimenting with solar power in a sun free country and wind power in a nation that needs energy mostly when the wind is not blowing, most UK people now recognise, despite the powerful propaganda, that renewable energy is nowhere near enough. Yes, do renewables, but not at such a foolishly high price, and without such a foolish aspiration - if renewables have standing, show me!

But we've seen the devastating failure of government policy on nuclear power over the past 3 decades too has relied on even higher levels of ignorance, perhaps an institutionalised scam which DOGE needs to look into?

Today things on energy are starting to get very tricky. Let us not repeat the same, hugely costly mistakes. But how? By rolling out nuclear power stations as fast as possible

Here is my view. I'm suggesting we can halve the cost of energy starting from today if we're deadly serious about it. The thing is, are we deadly serious about it and if we're not, then why bother doing anything at all - that would just add to the usual waste and welfare costs?

Obviously this guidance appears to be hyperbolic at face value. Maybe thats true. But the effects of state policy for the past 3 decades must have been from much wilder policy! So let's stop that immediately, with less hyperbole? And lets start getting deadly serious about it... IF we really mean it.

  1. Stop talking. Start doing. If we're deadly serious about it, then immediately start the ground work in all the 10 viable existing power station sites which need no further permission. If were deadly serious about it, why do we need permission and license? Now we're talking about it, abolish all licensing and planning permissions - we're deadly serious about it right? So lets start immediately and without further excuse.
  2. Use Korean, French and US nuclear regulations as they are. They designed and built them, do they care less about conservation and their people than we do? of course they don't. - the UK EPR's and PWR have clearly proven to be 100% super adequate. Meaning they cost about twice as much per unit of electricity than they need to. Think energy prices.
  3. Pay for new builds directly from The Treasury with new money, free from government bonds. Claw the new money back from the huge increases in local land values from the new build, using a covenant bond fixed to the boosted location values which will come with the new build. Instead of risky mortgages - help the nuclear workers and residents of the much greater supporting community infrastructure, get decent homes locally without risk of default, yet with a commitment to conservation of the local land. Conservation will deal with itself based on local commitment and obligation, rather than a cult of environmentalists.
  4. Build a network of partners with, for example, France where we need them for their expertise and components which we gave away during the decades of managed decline. Give them plenty of stake in it. With the promise that one day we might be able to proceed on our own. But with the likelihood both sides will benefit enormously from success anyway. The EU cannot create success. It can only block it.
  5. Any grants and subsidy to go directly into national civil engineering, be they public or private sector, commit any freebies to civil engineering. Not the energy companies or remaining investors - allow the best enterprise and state actors to come to the front.
  6. Cease promotion of all Net Zero and climate type policy and propaganda - proceed with climate doctrine if you must nationally. Just do not discuss it in any part of the new nuclear build - it is soul destroying for nuclear investors, designers and workers to talk about wind and solar when they know it cannot deliver but have to pretend to support it for fear of losing their jobs.
  7. Do not deliver any conservation policy at the power station site at inception. Deal with that properly following grid connection if still required after local land interests have done what they will do so well already having seen the huge local benefits.

COPA and Dr Craig Wright's Highly Principled Autistic Journey

If you are very bored and like reading High Court written judgements, follow this link .  https://www.judiciary.uk/wp-content/uploads/2024/05/COPA-v-Wright-Judgment.pdf  Warning: It is not pretty and paints the defendant in a very poor light. I'm not convinced with the ruling, largely because it follows the collective narrative so perfectly and feel the judge may well be unconsciously supporting it being unaware of the shenanigans we all know have been happening.  To be fair to the judge Wright failed, deliberately or because he had no choice for some proximate reason, to show any convincing evidence. The judge knew this pre trial and was kindly giving Wright an opportunity during the trial to deliver.  Wright could well be a serial forger or the unluckiest man alive. My view is that due to an important new point of law on property rights, to do with linking identity to the crypto assets, meaning that crypto assets are identical in nature to any other property in law...

Executive Summary of the Modern World

...and the imaginary rumours we still create to remind us life is all about survival  We still possess primordial inherited instincts Which tell us about constant impending dangers Our ancient ancestors used them as a survival tool in an environment which was constantly dangerous And with the advent of social organisation these existential threats disappeared Yet we still possess the instinct, like it remains in our DNA. And as a substitute for real danger we create imaginary danger, to fill the gap. This survival instinct still drives us as a primary function. Because it gives our lives meaning. More meaning than religions, fame or fortune. Much more. The drive is unconscious so we cannot be aware of it's powerful driving force This means there is no scientific analysis, logic nor reason which can attend to it It's also a collective activity making it quite remote for individual action to identify and act upon So what is the result of this artificial separation of ancient inhe...

On Freedom, its Obligations and Society's Preference for Slavery

This piece is going to talk about my preference for slavery over freedom. And how and why I try to hide my preference from public view. The meaning of freedom and how self awareness fails to interact with it? I talk a lot about freedom lately and it's clear I do not understand the meaning of the term I spout so boldly. Curiously, I quickly lose my confidence when the meaning of freedom is brought under proper scrutiny. Yet I'm not self aware enough to confess to that observation of ignorance at depth. Why is it hard for me to observe my ignorance and selfishness, especially when I want to be seen by society as a good, honest, law abiding citizen? There must be a deep psychological reason which is forbidden knowledge for the politics, science and economics driving society and its so called freedoms. I cite society as being close to the root and a driving force because I constantly seek validation from it more than anything else. Even family. Freedom and obligation are mutually i...
