News Theories



News theory is a tool authority uses to control the masses - an 'obedience structure'. It is the activity of telling the great masse of people entertaining stories to minimise the chance of them rebelling and to help them remain obedient.

News theories are like conspiracy theories. Except they are a more comforting form of theory about what authority wants you to hear, knowing these stories will be attractive to you in a calming way. The news theories in general being no more than entertainment. 

Wait, what? Yes, that's right. The news is not telling you about what is happening. It is whatever stories people want to hear, delivered in the most entertaining way. News theory. Theories which entertain people. 

News theories are much like conspiracy theories which are also geared to entertain people. Conspiracy theories are stories about an imaginary theatre of power and control used to deflect attention away from the use of obedience structures like news theory. They are not about what is happening either. People find conspiracy theories almost as entertaining as news theories.

News theory is not the same thing as fake news. A news theory is an entertaining story not even trying to tell you about what is actually happening. Whereas fake news stories are deliberately lying about what is actually happening.

News theory, conspiracy theory and fake news are the means authority uses to encourage people to be more obedient, to it, through stories - obedience structures. Facts are never involved, except wherever it might help reinforce the illusion keeping the people obedient. 

This is rare though - people place obedience way above abstract principles such as objective facts, morals, saving the planet, charity etc. In fact these principles are normally used by the most obedient people to exploit most needy people in the world, with the ultimate purpose of signalling obedience to authority - signalling obedience being the virtue all people value the most and which helps people climb high more than anything else.

Why is news theory so dominant and important to authority? Because it works! Authority does not use it because it is a good or a bad thing. But because it works, in the short term world of un-leadership. Inevitably unintended consequences commanded by nature will hold sway. Nonetheless, authority chooses to use News Theory. So what do we call stories about things which are actually happening? The Olds.

But the olds died a long time ago. So long ago that historians cannot really say any more if the olds ever existed at all.
