I'm going to tell you about a 'zero volt rebellion'. This is a metaphor for acting for the first time in civilised history to have an authentic dialogue on the world's great social problems.
It's common to observe that every side politically is in an eternal battle for power and can only see the enemy as insane or evil. But a 'zero volt rebel' suggests that all sides are actually acting politically rationally because the technique used always works.
Obviously this is particularly topical today and for the past ten years or so in global power terms.
I'll base what I'm telling you on this analysis: The 450 Volt Truth: From Orwell to Obedience which shows how a foundational structure of obedience is what allows a society to maintain control at scale, in spite of the guaranteed destructive consequences, priced in form the start.
What it's asking for is an authentic dialogue about the great social problems, to finally take place. Most people will scoff at this and say this has always been allowed to happen. This is just reinforcing my point even more intensely about the need to call it out, at all - they are just signalling obedience to shut down the prospect of it actually happening for the first time. The tribe rewards these ones the most of all. Scott Adams would call them 'the designated liars'.
A zero volt rebellion implies not that society in general is a bad thing. But when it's run at extreme scale, a hierarchy of obedience is the only way it can be sustained, yet will always end up in tears. My hope is that an authentic dialogue through rebellion this way, would start a proper public conversation for the very first time about the great social problems and their cause and effect.
Maybe that would mean discussion about a a decentralised society, which requires no scaling so does not need a hierarchy of obedience to succeed and presents the vision necessary to take humanity onto the higher ground - space. Not anarchy!
I will call the activity of undertaking the necessary and authentic dialogue on the world's great social problems which has never yet been had - a 'zero volt rebellion'. Because it does not require the people's obedience to happen. It does not require the permission of authority. "I" become the brain, no longer just the agentic hand.
Obedience. To authority. The Tribe. Governed by the tribal narrative.
Since we left hunting the plains and started ploughing the fields, there have always been several competing tribes in an eternal battle for power. Due to the inability to scale. Due to the need for a hierarchy to sustain control.
Designated liars call the other tribes condition - 'brain rot' which is a useful metaphor. But it's not descriptive of what is really happening.
Obedience to authority far outweighs abstract principles(such as the topical identity, saving the planet or patriotism)
Authority is the collective of people - 'the tribe' who follow a particular narrative or worldview. A story about the tribe and its imaginations.
Wealth & Power are merely acting as a proxy for those who allow them to lead - the tribe allows it, they cannot be blamed except by a neurotic tribe.
By signalling obedience to this authority, one is most likely to climb the social ladder of that particular tribe.
There are no exceptions to this rule - all people are 'at it'. No exceptions. All that differs is one's tribe and how obedient one is prepared to be to it.
e.g. I am willing to kill more people with impunity, IF, the tribe gives me permission. And doing this will be rewarded by the tribe.
Look at antifa, the dems, waltz, the karens, the exploited ground troops, the crooked immigrants as an example of that particular tribe. Do they not reward each other for the killing? It works!
Now look in the mirror and tell me what you see in front of your own face... happening.
Power is not necessarily evil. It uses obedience not because it is bad. But because IT WORKS! And the tribe allows it to proceed.
I do not agree with obedience as the key driver of a society's morals and law, per se. I am simply pointing it out for further scrutiny. For a zero volt rebellion to take place followed by an authentic dialogue for the first in the history of humanity. That is all. Is it too much to ask for?
I have told you about a 'zero volt rebellion'. This is a metaphor for acting for the first time in civilised history to have an authentic dialogue on the world's great social problems, free from judgement.
