Have you considered abolishing ALL taxation on work and business. And instead for revenue, confiscating 100% of all location value?
There is plenty. Its easy to collect, and the assets cannot be moved into a tax haven. So it's extremely simple to administer and all people know what they are paying for the government finally.
Think about the rise in employment now free from destructive taxation on their hard work and enterprise. Then the concomitant rise in wages compared to location value, mitigating the so called housing crisis.
Finally, now people willing and able to work, not being blocked by taxation from starting work, would leave a tiny highly visible and easy to identify fraction of the electorate justifiably needing welfare.
For the remaining fraction who're not willing to work yet still able, simply stop giving them free money - most they would soon get up and try when they realise a just government were leading us. Some would still refuse but that should be their free choice surely?
Can you image the boom that will come?
Britain would rise above even America within ten years. Maybe even a single election cycle.
As soon as the policy were announced, the market would start to rediscover the pricing, even before it was deployed system wide.
And given the boom in productivity means a similar rise in rents, the tax base would also boom. Maybe we would soon be paving our streets with marble?
