In response to a friend today, who is trying to escape from himself using circular reasoning:
RS> That is what everyone trying to escape says. But it's not possible to escape. You're just exporting your dark side, unconsciously.
FRIEND> theres nothing to ‘escape’ from
Ho hum. Here's my supplemental response:
Except the demon possessing you.
You won't be aware of this, its unconscious activity. Everyone has a master in the form of an inner demon. To whom you having given consent. Everyone denies they have one.
If its an unconscious activity, of course you will not be aware it. You rendered it into the unconscious long ago...to escape. That was the deal you made when you gave him consent to take your freedom, consciously and deliberately. You knew that once the contract was signed he would allow you to forget that you had signed the contract.
Escaping is a very cosy contract to sign up to. It helps you rest your weary head at night. Is it any wonder that everyone signs up to this contract without exception. There's a high tariff though, which inflation reinforces, forever, or until you confess its happening again, and withdraw your consent from this new inner master.
A neat way of looking at this, is to imagine it happening in the material world, with say, society generally, which if done wrongly insists on a hierarchical leadership structure. Every person who choses to live on that 'land' must enter into a tacit alliance/contract where you advance your consent to authority. Your consent to whatever they deem fit. That is the deal.
Be that democratic or tyrannical it makes no fundamental difference - you have let go of your freedom to the extent you advanced consent to this new master. You do this because this authority has promised to take up the obligations and duties truly vested in you, and they call it 'your rights' and enshrine it in civil rights law on the earth.
But this is a terrible mistake - it is saying the good ends justify the sinning means. The good ends fallacy - no good, in this universe, can ever come from doing bad. Sure, expedience works in the short term.
When you are born you have obligations which only you can serve once past 'the age of consent' - the age when you became an 'adult' and are finally an autonomous spirit in the material world. And if you reneg on those obligations by projecting them onto a false master, then your life problems will start and escalate. You're effectively giving your consent to a master, to enslave you - the escape.
So its a form of neurosis, a pathology, to complain about this new master you yourself willingly and deliberately signed the contract with. It is You who He came to tell this. And you executed him for trying. He gave his life, so that your sins could be forgiven.
The only 'leader' who can remain authentic, is the one who is ready to give even his life to point all this out. He does not need to do charity, to fast at the right times, to wear the right clothes, to be seen to be saving the planet, to bath himself in the correct identity or to hold power to account. All he needs to do is stand up and tell you in public what it really means to sin.
The tell tale of his authenticity is that the great masse will turn on him and try to have him killed. Of course, he will be shining a light on your cosy escape. And its too cosy for all people to give up.
At the time you knew very well the escape means forgetting about who you really are - giving up your freedom, in order to escape from the most difficult challenges of life.
A form a self-slavery -
you did the deal with the devil, where the trick is to self hypnotise and forget to remind yourself every morning in prayer or meditation that:
"Yes, I am a sinner. My forgetting is the golden sin. And it's this golden sin which He came to forgive. I confess that it is Me"
If you're not that religious, just think about it as a form of personal development. The best form. The only form you need.
Once you've confessed, all else falls into place, maybe - you stop hurting yourself so much, and then of course, other people. Its no use continuing to hurt yourself and expect to be able to help others, that is repeating the same old 'good ends fallacy', it cannot work in this universe.
Fix yourself first, and only then start trying to help others...if, they still need helping. They may already have fixed themselves too and you will be a real nuisance and danger to them.
Nothing is guaranteed though - you have to keep confessing, forever. The beauty of it is that it overwhelms the so called 'prisoners dilemma' fallacy. Mutual cooperation is not needed to benefit everyone, and self-interest does not lead to defection. You are the world. Saving yourself, saves the world.
Christians call it 'prayer'. Others call it 'meditation'.
It is never called power, logic, knowledge or reason except in the material world which is fallen(everyone is a sinner in deep denial).
Beware such false prophets and demons. Confess that "I Am the sinner" and the demon will be exorcised immediately. You will no longer be self harming. It comes with benefits - you will no longer be harming others in your possession.
May I wish you all the very best of all good luck a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
