This is why the main 4 uniparty's in the UK have abandoned it. This is why the US President is insisting on its wholesale adoption.
It becomes nigh on impossible to steal an election if your identity is linked with your vote using a digital signature. Because using this everyday tech your signature is immutable. (cannot be reversed nor repudiated). Not even the state can tamper with a 256 bit hash quickly enough and at scale, to undermine an election *
And with further simple digital tech, and without impeding your privacy at all, your vote can be proven to have taken place. (Zero Knowledge Proofs)
The slave states of the world are not smart. They are slow. And why would a slave try hard at anything if no extra salary will be gained by it? Despite all this degeneracy these states have have finally recognised the truth in this allegation and the 'benefits' of control through obedience which come by abandoning Digital ID or Voter ID.
From primary evidence in the past 3 US elections, about to be exposed big time if the judges do not manage to censor it the following indictments have just been issued:
"Barack Hussein Obama attempted to overthrow the United States government in 2016, the sitting president in 2017, overthrew it in 2020"
* Of course there are other ways a crooked state urgently looking for armies of wilful slaves to exploit can tamper with votes. But with a digital signature EVERYONE will be able to see it has happened.
And that means insurrection, in the clear black and white which a small child can quickly see.
My personal addition to all this, is that if digital technology is used to secure an elections integrity, votes in the form of transactions must be archived on a public blockchain(digital ledger) for all to see if necessary.
Not to see the identity of the voters or impede their privacy, that's impossible technically. But to hold the authorities securely to account by its transparency. Reinforcing the second amendment just as the right to bear arms does so well.
