Genocide is an international crime defined as the intentional destruction, in whole or in part, of a national, ethnic, racial, or religious group. Coined in 1944 by Raphael Lemkin, this legal concept was formalized by the 1948 United Nations Genocide Convention.
The UN Convention defines it as committing any of the following acts with intent to destroy a group:
- Killing members.
- Causing serious bodily or mental harm.
- Deliberately inflicting conditions of life aimed at physical destruction.
- Imposing measures to prevent births.
- Forcibly transferring children.
Pay attention to point 4.
- Imposing measures to prevent births.
Does abortion fall within this category? There might be a subtle difference - that the entire nation is 'imposing measures to prevent births' rather than a specific tribe.
We already know there are 73 million abortions per year globally, about 300,000 in the UK alone.
It's curious that the tribes refusing to discuss this are the same as the ones saying we must import millions of immigrants to ruthlessly exploit, when we are already killing just as many others before they even get their feet into the world let alone across the border.
We could also ask a similar question about the system wide destruction of the working class - an entire cultural group. Is that also, genocide?
Its interesting to compare these grotesque numbers with the teeny weeny relative numbers in Gaza, even if we could prove it's not only Hamas who are killing their own people at scale too.
