Things have sunk this low. Giving gifts to people you love, is taxed at high rates. As if 'giving' is harmful or a source of revenue for a welfare state that is no good at gifting.
This 'state' will say "but people will game the system if we do not do it".
Is that not a good thing? People will be independently giving welfare to who they deem are in need. Not the state who historically are a perennial failure with welfare. Even if its a tax dodge, so be it.
The burden of welfare is no longer on the state who are notoriously hopeless at it not to mention that it tends toward systemic fraud within the state. Think gangs in backward nations.
So abolition of tax on gifts will be a positive benefit compared to welfare.
You see? So can we also say that taxing gifts is yet another form of systemic fraud - of state run crime?
The same can be said of my view on 'friends and family' where they are the ones supporting those around them and not the state. Because though not perfect, that way by natural force works better than throwing the obligation onto the state.
Think about the state as your Master. And you as their Slave.
