I'm coming to the view that all social crises are artificially created. No matter which side one is on the political spectrum. All of us are creating crises out of nothing and then amplifying them internally.
There's no limit to how far we will go in using our imagination to create a new crisis: climate change doctrine, identity politics, the far right, population control, the so called cabal of wealth and power, all conspiracy theories, and so on and so on.
There seems to be no end to what will be dreamed up next to escape from the one thing we all must do.
No one seems to be exempt from blaming someone or something 'out there' for problems "I" have already deliberately created.
And none of us seems ready to accept that "I" use these dreamed up illusions to self-amplify this imaginary external enemy.
But why?
We were all put here - as far as we know, with or without choice, and are all born here into an identical condition whatever our history.
Fair or not materially, this identical unknowable condition is the root factor in our existence, even greater than having enough food and water to survive.
Because without this condition, there is no fundamental survival - after all, it came first did it not? It is probably where we came from and probably where we are going to...in the end.
The plain fact is that we are all born perfectly equally into this rather tricky condition. Let's call this condition 'the unknown condition'. Lets us speak symbolically about it using a mythical archetype of 'the dragon'. Archetypes are universal, beyond mere race, so everyone will understand what is meant by one immediately by intuition.
This 'unknown condition', not surprisingly, is the root cause of all existential angst and anxiety - deeply held fear which no one knows how to handle. Given this condition, this dragon, is unknown or unknowable we all feel as if we're living in an insecure world. Where nobody knows what this unknown condition actually means - where did we come from, where are we going?
Yes, yes, yes. There are all the religions and mystical world views who claim to 'be' the unknown condition. But are these not just more imaginary fabrications helping us to escape from our duty and avoid our obligation in a spectacular infinite regression in the next level of the game?
To address this difficult existential condition, we create narratives, ideologies, and all sorts of other imaginative yet false conditions, story's, myths, to 'escape' from the actual unknown condition - to turn away from the dragon.
Not to escape the reality of it. But to escape it only in our minds rather than face the unknown, head on, with the confidence we normally reserve for heros. Instead we project our fear of the unknown onto existential material world crises which do not actually exist in the real world or at least are not even harmful to us already.
Being a hero, facing the dragon, means doing a lot of things most people do not want to do: performing duties in life, meeting one's obligations in the world, all without complaint and accepting the fact that we were all born here, into a totally equal condition. A sort of holy confession.
Why do people not want to perform these difficult tasks under this tricky condition of the unknown? Because it is more difficult than the alternative! Creating false, imaginary conditions to fight against in the material world is easier, more cosy, and allows us to escape from our duty. While appearing to be doing something about it.
Given that all people are born without exception into this unknown condition, and that we all choose this 'cosy escape route', what are the consequences of choosing the escape over facing the dragon head on?
Having the capacity to face the dragon is an individual and autonomous choice only "I" can make. I cannot be trained to do it by a teacher. I cannot buy the ability to do it. I do not deserve the ability to do it. Social functions, the law, justice, rules cannot help me here.
To do my duty - to face the dragon, it must be Me who does it, without the help of outside forces. THIS is what we're all trying to escape from. Not facing the dragon, per se. But making the choice to face the dragon as an autonomous spirit.
So the consequences of escaping our duty, must be, that we will inevitably have a Master or authority of some kind ruling us, creating a script we all must follow and dishing out the law for those who do not follow the script and instead do their duty to face the dragon.
This master will always be whichever is the most powerful collective of people among us - it will never be an individual. It will be a collective of people who have chosen, not, to do their duty. There will be many such collectives or tribes competing for this power of authority. The most powerful in that time and place will be the one which wins the war or becomes the government.
We cannot even escape this supplementary escape either. Because it is what we have already chosen! By implication we have already chosen a master to protect us in our escape. Instead of doing our duty to face the dragon of the unknown condition.
We did it.
There is no need to make a secondary escape anyway. All each of us needs to do is to face the dragon, head on, and to not turn and run for the protection of a Master.
