This implies, more work will be done, per unit hour of labour employed. So the action will be like a gigantic new labour saving device. A great thing, no?
This seems to be why some people are saying there will soon be so much money in the world, no one will go without.
Even if there are groups of mad people trying to destroy the world, of whom there are many right now, this new wealth will *still* overwhelm these psychopaths, this new labour saving device has so much new power to produce more wealth.
Unless... all the gains end up in economic rent. Which has always been the final sink of wealth for every labour saving invention since the dawn. Nothing has changed fundamentally in spite of people calling it innovation. What has certainly changed is the scale of it iteratively. And that is not innovation.
Yes, this is still a great thing nonetheless - there will still be more money than ever raising everyone even more than before above poverty. But the division between those whose labour and capital creates all the new wealth and those who ultimately get to keep it, having not employed their own capital (home owners) will remain the same as ever.
Rents will rise. Along with the capitalised selling price of real estate. Toward new booming levels. Not too bad a thing, aye?
There is a catch. Can we dodge it?
New levels of 'jealousy of wealth' triggered by all this new wealth risk equally new levels of conflict. And this psychosis will follow the new wealth to the stars.
